"Madonna and Guy Ritchie have agreed to divorce after seven-and-a-half years of marriage. They have both requested that the media maintain respect for their family at this difficult time." These are the words of the official statement released by the couple's reps to the Associated Press.

In the past months there has been a lot of speculation about their relationship and according to many rumors the divorce was imminent. It seems now that much of the gossip was true.

At the moment Madonna is in the USA, where tonight she's set to perform in Boston, while Guy is in London, busy on the set of 'Sherlock Holmes'.
